Having conducted opinion research for many corporations, trade associations, nonprofits and political clients, Kristen brings significant experience as well as fresh perspective to the polling world.
Kristen frequently moderates focus groups for top-tier clients, and brings her research to The New York Times Opinion’s “America in Focus” series.
Her firm, Echelon Insights, was rated one of the most accurate polling firms by FiveThirtyEight for its work in the 2022 midterm. She founded Echelon Insightsin 2014 to blend the field of data analytics and digital intelligence with the quantitative and qualitative practices of opinion research. Co-founded with Patrick Ruffini, author of Party of the People, Echelon soon made a name for itself as an award-winning polling and analytics shop, and continues to provide insights to a wide range of clients.
Echelon Insights has won numerous AAPC “Pollie” Awards as well as Campaigns and Elections’ Reed Award for Innovation in Polling. Kristen and her business partner Patrick Ruffini were named to Washingtonian magazine’s “100 Tech Titans” list. She has been proud to poll for companies and organizations such as the Walton Family Foundation, Spotify, The Aspen Institute, and many more.
In particular, Kristen focuses on how to best use new online research tools in an era of declining telephone survey response rates, and is one of the foremost experts on key audiences such as the Millennial generation and Generation Z.
